When your child starts, there are a few things to bring with you:

  1. Updated shot record (send updated shot record when child receives additional shots)
  2. Child In-care Statement
  3. Child Information Record
  4. Food Sheet (will provide upon registration)
  5. Betty Boo's Daycare Contract (will provide upon registration)
  6. Crib sheet and blanket
  7. Extra clothing (please)

Children are encouraged to wear play clothes and tennis shoes.  Daily activities include active and messy play, and the children should feel comfortable enough to enjoy themselves without worrying about their clothes.  The child's name should be placed on all outdoor clothing and other belongings to help ensure the return of all the proper possessions and clothing.

Planned within the framework of philosophy and purpose, Betty Boo's Daycare curriculum includes sharing and conversation time, stories, songs and finger plays; creative art activities and crafts; games and large muscle activities; food preparation; science and nature activities; exposure to shapes, colors, numbers and letters; and celebration of birthdays and holidays.

Please keep your child home if they are throwing up, have diarrhea or are running a fever.  If they are not able to participate in our day, they should stay home or be with your backup caregiver.

No child who arrives at daycare noticeably ill, with a rash or with a fever will be admitted that day.  Should a child become ill during the day, the parent will be notified immediately.  The child is taken to the sick room and remains there under adult supervision until the parent or authorized person arrives to take the child home.

In the event a child contracts a communicable disease and exposes the other children, notice of such exposure will be posted, and parents will be notified when they pick up their children.  The ill child will not be allowed to return to daycare until the period of contagion has passed.

If a child needs to be withdrawn from daycare, two weeks notice is required so that the vacancy can be filled by another child.  Should more notice be possible, it would be greatly appreciated!
